Glover win's Cornwall's Junior of Merit
Alex Glover (St Mellion) has won Cornwall’s Junior Order of Merit, played over seven rounds (best five to count). He gained eight points for winning the last round at St Enodoc to finish six clear of Tom Fox (China Fleet) with Conor Warne (Carlyon Bay) and Joe Cruse (St Enodoc) on 29.
Championship win for Holl
James Holl, aged 15, won the Burnham and Berrow club championship for the first time, defeating former Somerset county player Adrian Deakins 6 and 4 in the 36-hole final.
College course qualifiers
Great Torrington’s Peter Stevenson, who attends the Filton Academy in Bristol, and Conor Wilson (Truro) led the qualifiers for next year’s British Colleges’ National Championships at Bridgwater College’s Cannington course.
Matton is matchplay winner
SAM Matton, the South West matchplay champion in 2007, won the Wiltshire matchplay final at Broome Manor with a one hole success over county captain Ali James.

Dainton pair fifth
Dainton Park pair Alison Davies and Jo Fisher were fifth out of an initial entry of 1,600 in the national finals of the Ping Ladies' Foursomes Club Championship at The Marriott Forest of Arden course in Warwickshire. After winning their club qualifier, they were equal third in the regional final at Bowood in Cornwall.

Lansdown beat Bristol and Clifton 2-1 in the final of the Gloucestershire seniors scratch foursomes matchplay final at Minchinhampton.
Stow shares ninth place
Wiltshire’s Ben Stow (Hamptworth) was the leading West player in the English Golf Union Champion of Champ-ions tournament at Woodhall Spa. He shared ninth place after rounds of 76 and 74 for a total of four-over-par 150. Devon’s Damion Gee (Sidmouth) was 14th on 151 (74 77) and Somerset’s Matt Kippen (Enmore Park) was 16th on 152 (79 73).
Knowle winner
Gloucestershire county player Jo Hodge has played very little golf in the area this summer as she is now attending Buckinghamshire University. But she returned to win the Knowle club championship once more with rounds of 78 and 74 to beat 14-year-old Shelby Smart, 83, 79, by ten shots.
West trio are Brazil-bound
Three West teenagers are off to Brazil this month after winning places in the grand final of the Nick Faldo Series.

Great Torrington made history by becoming the first nine-hole club to win the Palairet Memorial Trophy at Teignmouth, the Devon County Golf Union's flagship team competition that has been running for 78 years.

Wiltshire pair reach grand final at Desert Springs
Trisha Southard and Sarah Cushnahan will represent The Wiltshire at the grand final of the Desert Springs Golf 4 Women Salver in November. They have qualified for the American Greensomes event after coming through two tough rounds of qualifying. The pair won the club qualifier at The Wiltshire with a stableford score of 39 points before beating 30 other teams to the top prize at the Regional Final at Bransford Golf Club, near Worcester.

Student helps out at Home Internationals
Truro’s Matt Floyd helped England win the British Universities Home Internationals at Five Lakes in Essex. The 20-year-old Bath University economics student won four, halved one and lost only one of his six foursomes and singles matches in the four-country tournament.

Steve Horsewell, a seven handicapper at the Players Club, won the Gloucestershire county medal final for category one and two golfers at Minchinhampton’s Avening course with a net round of 69.
Tehidy Park win NSPCC final
Amanda East and Nikki Hodge from Tehidy Park, pictured, won the South West Regional Final of the NSPCC Ladies Golf Classic at Tiverton – the second year in a row that the representatives from Tehidy Park have qualified for the Grand Final at the Vale Hotel, Cardiff, on September 25-27. They carded 37 points in a fourball betterball format, two ahead of Lyn Chitty and Sue Smith from Cape Cornwall.
Weymouth pair triumph
Weymouth pair John Welch and Fern Grimshaw shot 75 to hold off the challenge from the Came Down pairing of Rowan Smith and Sue Cox and win Dorset county’s Inter-Club Mixed Foursomes at Bulbury Woods by one shot.

Hutton is Wilts champ again
Hamptworth touring professional David Hutton, 33, proved again he is the county’s leading player by winning the Hills Wiltshire Professional Championship for the third year in succession at Marlborough. He has now won five times since 2002 and banked a record cheque for £1,000 on a warm but windy day.
