Devon veterans celebrate stableford wins
David Huxtable, one of the best known players in the West Country over the years, is still winning trophies. His total of 36 points was one better than Jack Butterworth (Churston) and Gerry Franklin (Tiverton). Micky Pye (llfracombe) won the Veterans Challenge Cup. He carded 37 stableford points to finish one ahead of Tony Harford (Torquay) and Lewis Mosse (Teignmouth) with Alan Draper (Downes Crediton) fourth on 35. Grahame Sanford (Staddon Heights) took the Scratch Stableford for the Bert Hudson Cup with 30 points, two better than club colleague John Perriton with Chris Norman (Saunton) on the same score. Huxtable, Pye and R Butcher scored well enough to take the team shield for Ilfracombe with 107 points. Teignmouth (L Mosse, R Wilson and R Collier) were runners up four points behind.
